Birthday Cards

Here are a couple of birthday cards along with a gift card holder (far left).  These cards are not really my style of cards that I would create but were fun to make and I may use these ideas in the future.  The middle card was a paper piecing card along with chip board sticker.  The card on the right was created using papers from a 6x6 paper pack and chip board sticker.  If you are interested in making these cards, I will be teaching this class at Michael's in Eagan in January.

Planning ahead for Valentine's Day

So I am not sure how to rotate this picture so you are going to have to look at it sideways.  I made this swap for a card swap that I am participating in.  This card comes from the Originals card program offered by Close to my Heart.  It is also using some of the new paper in the Seasonal catalog. Look for this card at the January card class on the 20th.

Floral Arrangement

So I have no real floral schooling or training of any kind, however, I have been asked over the last three months to teach floral classes at Michael's.  Well, I am truly enjoying them.  This is the free floral class being offered in January.  You can go to their web site, call or stop by to sign up for this class.  I will be teaching this class at the Michael's in Eagan.

I might need to re-think this

So I have been trying to branch out and crochet other things than just afghans and wash clothes.  Here is my 1st attempt at slippers.  Well, I must have not counted right unless I was making this for the green giant.  My daughter was kind enough to tell me that they are really warm and if I made one for the other foot to - she would wear them.  Tomorrow I will be designing for my classes at Michaels and will post those pictures soon.

Buttons, Buttons - what are we doing with buttons?

Day 7 - Buttons

One of my recent swaps was create a layout using buttons.  Well there are the usual, buttons in flowers, button trees, button borders . . . what to make.  I recently purchased the Frozen Cricut cartridge.  I love snowmen so I had to get it - and my youngest loves the movie so it seemed like a must have.  I found these snowflake buttons from at least 10 years ago when I began Close to My Heart and I thought that would complete the project and the buttons portion of the swap.

Day 5

Close to My Heart has a number of "How-To" books for both scrapbooking and card making.  Every time a new one is published I have to get it and once I receive that book, I use over and over and over again.  Then for a change of pace, I put it on the shelf.  Well I was challenged this week to pull it out and use it again.  This is one of the layouts I did with the Cherish scrapbooking book.

Day 4

Day 4 - so one thing about adding a post to your blog is you must save it - oops.  So Day 4 is being resaved.  I have been doing grandma things (as a good friend of mine calls it).  I have been crocheting wash clothes.  Good last minute gifts for almost every one and they go together so quick.  Enjoy!

Day 3

Using your Cricut can add some dimension to your page layouts.  It can be as simple as adding some shapes to create  depth.
